With the end of the school year rapidly approaching, college is beckoning for many students. A new location, new routine, and new people can make college quite an adjustment. We asked a few students for their advice to incoming freshman so they can make a smooth transition to college.

We are fortunate in our industry that we share the common bond of dairy, agriculture, and a strong work-ethic – even with people we have never met. This connection makes meeting new people in an agriculturally-based course of study an easier transition because students will be surrounded by people who share some of their same interests.

Those who are pursuing a career in a nonagricultural area have the exciting task of informing and educating their classmates about the role agriculture plays in their life. The messages these young adults share in the following video applies to both agriculture and nonagricultural courses of study. We hope you find it valuable as parents, students, and friends of those preparing for college.
