Courses:In addition to basic animal science courses (nutrition, reproduction, genetics, health), our courses include introductory ag business and dairy science courses, dairy and meat animal evaluation, dairy products, lactation physiology, senior-level management courses in dairy, ag marketing, ag prices and risk management, as well as courses utilizing various record keeping programs.

Travel Opportunities:

Tour area dairy farms in association with the Dairy Cattle Management Course. Students also attend the Canadian Royal Winter Fair, Midwest and National Dairy Challenge contests, American Dairy Science-Student Affiliate Regional meeting, and World Dairy Expo. Students interested in agriculture and dairy specifically have the opportunity of traveling to Dronten in the Netherlands through our exchange program, either for a semester or a year. There are also short-term faculty-led programs in Ghana, Africa, the Netherlands, China and Romania.
