Florida has a significant number of large farms (average herd size = 900 milking) and many producers host tours and internships for students from UF and many other institutions around the US and worldwide. There are 8 to 10 dairies within 30 miles of campus with 1000 or more cows. All of those dairies welcome student involvement. Students also participate in Dairy Challenge and ADSA-SAD.
