Milk stabilization poll

Hoard's Dairyman:

Milk stabilization poll

Date:
Wed, 03/09/2011

With all the recent discussion around possible dairy legislation in 2011, it is no wonder that there are so many different opinions, and dollar figures, on the subject. On Monday's blog (Two studies find milk stabilization benefits producers), we noted that the difference in agreement between the IDFA (International Dairy Foods Association) and NMPF (National Milk Producers Federation) was nearly $3.8 billion.

In the end, it is up to our elected officials in Washington, D.C., to make the final decisions. Of course, the two aforementioned organizations both have great lobbying influence on Capitol Hill. Is this a case of two Goliaths battling it out? Or, will David step in and steal the show?

We would like to know where the readers of this blog side. Do you have a position, or are you still on the fence?

Hoard’s Dairyman's free monthly webinars airs next Monday, March 14 at noon (central time). The upcoming topic relates to the various milk production control plans being discussed. You can watch a free one-hour Hoard's Dairyman webinar next Monday, or watch it later in the week after we archive the session. Mark Stephenson, University of Wisconsin-Madison discusses this topic. The March webinar is brought to you by Merial and their www.bestinclassdairies.com program.
