Champion Red and White is crowned

Blondin Redman Seisme is the new queen Red and White. She was named Grand Champion Red and White earlier today at the Grand International Red and White show at World Dairy Expo. She is owned by Morsan Farms, Ltd. of Ponoka, Alberta, Canada. Coming in Reserve is Silvermine Adv Tally-Red-ET exhibited by Milksource Genetics of Kaukauna, Wis. Read more

Four Winds captures Champion Guernsey once more

With a herd dispersal planed for spring 2011, Clark and Joy Vilter of Four Winds Farm, Hartland, Wis. captured the honor of Grand Champion Guernsey at World Dairy Expo 2010. The cow- Four Winds Mentor Highlight was the winner of the four-year-old class. She was followed by Reserve Champion Stockwell Farms Reward Hailey who is a five-year-old. Read more

Brown Swiss name their champions

Today, September 30, 2010, the Brown Swiss breed named their champions. The International Brown Swiss show was judged by Callum McKiven of Canton De Hatley, Quebec, Canada. For many exhibitors this is the pinnacle of the show season, and joy was evident on the winner's faces. Read more

Bonnie Making Headlines!

Bonnie Mohr signing prints in Hoard's Dairyman booth at World Dairy Expo 2010

The cover of the Wisconsin State Journal prominently displayed Hoard’s Dairyman’s “Foster Mothers of the Human Race” painting created by artist Bonnie Mohr. Today’s paper talks about the artist and how painting this image was certainly a “crowning achievement” in the life of Bonnie Mohr–the artist.

With the 125th Anniversary of Hoard’s Dairyman, Bonnie Mohr painted the updated Foster Mothers of the Human Race painting, which depicts the seven dairy breeds recognized by the Purebred Dairy Cattle Association. The print is on display, and one lucky Expo attendee will win the print in a drawing. Read more

The Jersey breed crowns their royalty

After 188 heifers and 189 milking Jerseys, a total of 377 animals, walked across the colored shavings the champion of the Central National Jersey Show was named by judge, Kelly Barbee.

Barbee, of Concord, N.C., selected Frederick 2783 Adventure as Grand Champion. Adventure is exhibited by S. Lackey, Rader and Walton of Carlisle, Penn. Reserve honors went to Llolyn Jude Griffen-ET.

Int'l Milking Shorthorn Champions - One for the ages

The International Milking Shorthorn Show was held today, Wednesday, September 29. The show began with the milking classes, the champions, and then followed by the heifer classes. Two well-known cows of the breed came ready for the challenge. Coming out on top were the two aged cows, Peri and Christina. Read more
