Select Reproductive Solutions (SRS) Specialists Meet For Advanced Training
More than 60 professional Select Reproductive Solutions (SRS) specialists from Select Sires' member organizations and Select Sires GenerVations as well as Select Sires staff and guests gathered for the annual SRS Conference held June 6 to 9 in Rochester, Minn. to share ideas and learn more about the latest in reproductive technology. Hosted by Minnesota Select Sires Co-Op, Inc., the four-day conference incorporated both classroom and on-farm training.
"This was our largest SRS conference to-date with more than three times the participation of the first one 12 years ago," stated Dr. Ray Nebel, vice president of technical service programs. "We had the opportunity to collaborate, brainstorm, learn new skills and hear about the latest CowManager® developments. We also heard from experts on genomic testing, synchronization protocols and herd-management products."
Outside of the classroom SRS specialists participated in the annual RePRO Analysis challenge. Attendees were split into small teams and worked together to evaluate a dairy and present their findings to the entire conference. Similar to collegiate Dairy Challenge, this real-world experience allows SRS specialists to collaborate with their peers from around the country.
