Katie Sielaff, University of Minnesota Veterinary Student, Receives the 2015 Zinpro/Schugel Scholarship

Katie SielaffZinpro Corporation recently awarded its 2015 Zinpro/Schugel Scholarship to Katie Sielaff, a student at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a member of the class of 2016 and hails from Greenleaf, Wisconsin.

"I want to use my education to help producers, mainly focusing on dairy and beef, to efficiently and profitably produce their product," says Sielaff, who expressed thanks to Zinpro Corporation for honoring her with the award. "This world keeps growing, and with an ever-growing population, we need to help our food animal clients to produce more of their product in a safe and efficient manner."

The Zinpro/Schugel Scholarship was established in 2011 to recognize outstanding academic accomplishments by a third-year veterinary student studying food animal medicine at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. "We are pleased to award our 2015 scholarship to Ms. Sielaff for her commitment to excellence, her dedication to improve animal productivity and her demonstrated ability to contribute to a healthier, more sustainable food system," says Dr. Terry Ward, global director, Research and Nutritional Services (RNS), Zinpro Corporation. "Her enthusiasm for food animal science and animal wellness closely resembles that of Dr. LaVerne Schugel, for which the scholarship was named."

ZinproZinpro Corporation founded the Zinpro/Schugel Scholarship Fund shortly after the retirement of long-time employee, Dr. Schugel, a veterinarian and past RNS director. Dr. Schugel is a 1957 graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine.
