Farm To Table logoWisconsin Farm to Table will be presenting the second annual Farm to Table Dinner on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at 5 p.m., hosted by the Hoard's Dairyman Farm.

The Hoard's Dairyman Farm, located at N2856 WI-89, Fort Atkinson, WI 53538, is the perfect setting for this elegant dining experience, open to the public. A farm tour is scheduled at 5:00 p.m., followed by a cocktail hour and live music entertainment at 6:00 p.m., and concluding the evening's program with a catered dinner program at 7:00 p.m.

Wisconsin agriculture will be explored through a unique on-farm culinary experience. The evening's creations, designed by local chef Tyler Sailsbery of The Black Sheep, will be sure to inspire. The goal of this experience is to bring a community of consumers together through food grown and raised by local farmers and thoughtfully prepared by a local chef.

Those contributing to the meal are experts in their fields, working to bring local flavors and ingredients to the table. The following farms are contributing ingredients for the Wisconsin Farm to Table meal and presenting their story during the dinner program:

Torkelson Cheese – Jason Yurs, Hoard's Dairyman Farm Manager

Our host farm, Hoard's Dairyman Farm, produces and supplies their exceptional milk supply directly to Torkelson Cheese, a producer of "World Champion" cheese. They are celebrating over 30 years in creating and marketing the highest quality cheese.

Rushing Waters Fisheries – Peter Fritsch, Farm Manager

Located on 80 acres at the edge of the Kettle Moraine State Forest in Palmyra, Wis., Rushing Waters Fisheries raises premium quality rainbow trout. Since 1999, and as the state's largest trout farm, the owners have implemented sustainable practices, traditional methods and modern technology to raise their fish, resulting in delicious rainbow trout.

Wilson Farm Meats – Scott Wilson, Owner

Farming since the 1870's, owner Scott Wilson, a fifth generation farmer, established Wilson Farm Meats in 2004. Dedicated to their farming roots in Walworth County, Wilson Farm Meats is located in Elkhorn, Wis., where the family provides the finest quality, custom cut pork. The home farm is located 15 miles from the store, where Scott and his son, Alex, still today, raise and care for the swine.

Jelli's Market – Libby Knoebel, daughter of owner

Elizabeth Knoebel, a 17-year-old senior from Helenville, Wis., lives on the family beef, fresh produce and crop farm, Jelli's Market. The farm includes 50 Angus Beef, one Milking Shorthorn, 2,000 crop acres, and 40 acres of fresh produce for sale in the farm's market. As a 4-H student, Elizabeth takes pride in caring for the beef cows, feeding before and after school, and working with the show beef during the evenings and weekends. While Elizabeth loves a beautiful cow more than most, her focus remains on animal care and beef quality, ensuring a safe end product for consumers as top priority.

Hammer Farm – Nancy Kavanzanjian, Farm Co-Owner

Nancy and her husband Charles Hammer own and crop farm together in Beaver Dam, Wis. The family farm has been in the Hammer family for an impressive 149 years. As the farmer-director on the United Soybean Board, and Chairperson of the U.S. Farmers and Ranchers Alliance, Nancy takes great pride in the care of their soil and sustainable production of corn, soybeans and wheat.

In addition to the above farms we are also fortunate to have contributions from the following farmers: Steffen's Cherry Orchard, Traci Novak Family Squash Farm; additional cheeses from Crave Brothers Cheese, Hook's Cheese, 4th Generation Weyauwega Cheese, Scott's of Wisconsin, Marieke Cheese, Deer Creek Cheese; beer from New Glarus Brewing Company; wine from Northleaf Winery and Wollershime Winery; milk from Sassy Cow Creamery; and butter from Grassland.

A GREAT CAUSE: the Hoard's Dairyman Farm has named the Jefferson County 4-H Dairy Youth Fund as their organization of choice. A portion of the evening's Wisconsin Farm to Table proceeds will be gifted to this Youth Fund to support their organization's dairy projects, fund their showmanship and herdsmanship awards, dairy quiz bowl, and other dairy judging and leadership team activities.
