Members of the Wisconsin FFA Foundation's Blue and Gold Society have made the commitment of a $15,000 contribution over a 3-year period or less. They are an instrumental part of the Foundation's continued ability to provide financial support to agricultural education and FFA programs throughout Wisconsin.

The prestigious Blue and Gold Society began in 2001 and currently includes 20 members. Joining them this year will be: The Family of Dr. Gordon J. Iverson, Amber Vickers Keller and Ken Seering.

Dr. Gordon Iverson, affectionately known as "Doc," was a member of the Shawano FFA in his youth and a veterinarian for more than 50 years. He passed away in 2011 and his son Bret will be representing the Iverson family at the State Convention. Bret says his father was honored to help out "with the greatest organization a student can belong to. He always gave everything he had to help others."

Amber Vickers Keller was the first female Wisconsin FFA President in 1989-90 and served as treasurer the year prior. Today, she serves on the Wisconsin FFA Foundation Board of Directors and is an agricultural lender with Union Bank and Trust Company in Evansville. Vickers Keller advises today's FFA members to: "Be bold. Try something new. Have the courage to get involved and make a difference."

Ken Seering will be the final inductee of the Blue and Gold Society at the 2015 State FFA Convention. He believes agricultural education and FFA offers students many opportunities, and during his 30 years as the agricultural instructor at Denmark School District, he's seen this to be

true. Now retired, Seering was asked for his advice to FFA members. He says: "Dare to dream, set realistic goals and then make those dreams become reality; you can be the young agriculture advocates we need for the future of our world."

"I can't say enough about the generosity of our Blue and Gold Society members and our excitement in welcoming these new members at this year's State FFA Convention," says Sara Schoenborn, Wisconsin FFA Foundation Executive Director. "The members of our Blue and Gold Society are excellent examples of the tremendous impact an individual or a family can have on the future of our industry. They believe in our members and are willing to personally invest in their education and future successes."
