Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association announced new officers at its 124th annual business meeting held during the Wisconsin Cheese Industry Conference April 23 in Madison.

The WCMA Board of Directors elected new officers April 21 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2015. Chris Simon, vice president of quality assurance and product development with Agropur in Appleton, WI, will become WCMA President. Mr. Simon served as First Vice President and Second Vice President in the preceding two years.

Kim Heiman, president of Nasonville Dairy, Marshfield, WI, will serve as WCMA First Vice President. Kim previously served as WCMA Treasurer. Kerry Henning, president of Henning Cheese, Kiel, WI, takes the role of WCMA Second Vice President. Mr. Henning has served eight times in officer roles for WCMA.

Mike Neu, senior vice president, cultures & enzymes, with Chr. Hansen Inc., Milwaukee, WI, returns as WCMA Secretary for a second year in a row. WCMA Treasurer will be Bruce Workman, owner of Edelweiss Cheese in Monticello, WI. Mr. Workman has served as an officer in four previous years.

Six WCMA members will join the Board of Directors in the fiscal year beginning July 1. These new directors include Mark Witke, Zimmerman Cheese, Wiota, WI; Greg Siegenthaler, Grande Cheese, Brownsville, WI; Dave Buholzer, Klondike Cheese, Monroe, WI; Jim Bleick, Graf Creamery, Zachow, WI; John Breene, Dairy Farmers of America, Plymouth, WI; and Kyle Jensen, Hilmar Cheese Co., Hilmar, CA.

Six directors with a total of 39 years of service on the WCMA Board of Directors will depart the Board on July 1. These directors include John Fridirici, Grande Cheese Co., Brownsville, WI; Fred Laack, Dupont Cheese, Marion, WI; Jim Natzke, Alpine Slicing & Cheese Conversion, Monroe, WI; Phil Robnett, Hilmar Cheese Co., Hilmar, CA; Lucy Schwartz, Dairy Farmers of America, Zumbrota, MN; and Steve Stettler, Decatur Dairy, Brodhead, WI.
