Virtus Virtus Nutrition has expanded its sales and marketing staff into the Midwest and Southern U.S. markets. They hired representatives Bryce Chatt of Ohio and Daniel Knoll, Kansas.

"With the addition of these two experienced sales professionals, Virtus Nutrition has bolstered its regional presence with representatives with a passion to serve the dairy industry as a valuable resource in these expanded markets. They will be a tremendous addition to the Virtus Nutrition team," said Kevin Murphy, technical and western sales director for Virtus Nutrition.

Bryce Chatt Bryce Chatt (right), the Great Lakes sales manager, will be responsible for a territory, which includes Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. He will be calling on nutritionists, dairy producers and feed mill operations in the region. There are 6,275 licensed dairies in that three-state territory, according to U.S. Department of Agriculture statistics for 2013.

"Our focus will be working with nutritionists, feed mills and dairy producers to help raise awareness of producers of Virtus Nutrition, their products and technology," says Chatt. "I'll be able to share the latest science and technological advances the company has made with their products and programs."

Chatt grew up on a grain and cow/calf operation in Eastern Nebraska. He is a graduate of Bellevue University in Omaha, Neb., with a bachelor's degree in marketing management and an associate degree in Ag Production Systems related to diversified crops and livestock.
Since college, Chatt spent almost 15 years in the animal health industry and is looking forward to the transition to the nutrition side of the industry. He was honored as the 2004 National Representative of the Year, 2007 Regional Cattle Biologicals Rep of the Year, and Leadership Council Award recipient in 2010 and 2012.

While there is still a majority of small dairies in the Great Lakes region, Chatt says the number of large-herd operations have increased significantly.
