Company president declares 2015 the Year of Innovation and Customer Focus

This May, Vets Plus, Inc. celebrates its 25th year of business. As the company reflects upon its past success and plans for future growth, President and CEO Raj Lall has declared 2015 the Year of Innovation and Customer Focus.

The company formed in 1990 to manufacture and market probiotic and calcium gels for dairy cattle. Since its humble beginnings with just a handful of products, the company has expanded to include a portfolio of several hundred supplement and treat formulations for all species of both food animals and pets. Headquartered in Menomonie, Wis., Vets Plus operates in three facilities with national and global distribution.

The company's growth into an industry leader has been fueled by a strong dedication to research and commitment to customer care, which Lall said will remain the focus for continued growth. Lall said, "We have a strong research team and have invested in research initiatives. As other companies consider their private label manufacturing partner, the depth of our scientific expertise sets us apart." He said, "Innovation will be the key to our continued success."

While research is one critical part of serving the customer, Lall said the company is looking for other ways to improve efficiencies to meet clients' needs. Employees from all departments are encouraged to formally submit ideas to reduce operation cost, increase production or maximize efficiency. Successful implementation of an idea is rewarded with an Innovation Award. "Several members of our team have already stepped forward with innovative ways to improve our operations," said Ted Maday, director of human resources and project management. He said the new initiative, "encourages employee engagement and helps us to better serve our customers at the same time, so it's a win for everyone."

According to Lall, the future looks bright for the company. "We're positioned well within the industry-known for quality, research and our wide-ranging capabilities in production," he said. "We've grown because we are always eager to try a new ingredient, formulation, or delivery system and honor our commitments to our private label partners. I'm more excited now than ever to see what our team will develop in the next phase of our business."
