Proceeds to benefit student agriculture organization

The University of New Hampshire Dairy Club will be holding The Blue and White Classic, Calf and Heifer Sale, on Saturday, March 16th, 2013 at the Skogland Livestock Arena.

The Blue and White Classic will be held at the Skogland Livestock Arena, located on the University's main campus in Durham. The sale will feature Holstein, Jersey, Brown Swiss, Ayrshire, and Milking Shorthorn calves and heifers from several New England farms. This is UNH's first calf sale in many years and the dairy club hopes it will become an annual event. "This is an exciting opportunity for all of us," said UNH Dairy Club President Amelia Aznive. "The sale will provide our club members with invaluable experiences such as communication, problem solving and time management, as well as networking with members of the dairy industry throughout New England." Aznive also said, "We are hoping this sale will not only help dairy farmers by introducing some new genetics to their herds but will also help 4-H members find the perfect heifer for their dairy projects. We are hoping to make this sale an annual event that everyone will be waiting for year after year."

Proceeds from the sale will fund the Dairy Club's various annual trips which include: farm visits, Northeast Dairy Challenge, National Dairy Challenge, and Northeast Student Affiliate Competition.

The sale's auctioneers will be John F. French License # 2202 and Harold F. French License # 2204. Viewing of sale animals will start at 11am, and the sale will begin at 1pm. Lunch will be available for purchase. To learn more about the sale check out their Facebook page; UNH Blue & White Classic Heifer Sale.
