Purina Animal Nutrition announces the hiring of Dr. Kevin Herrick, Ph.D., as the senior manager to the dairy and livestock technical support team.A background steeped in both science and hands-on experience, Dr. Herrick most recently worked for Kemin as a dairy technical service manager in North America.
Prior to this he worked as the ruminant global product manager at Kemin, as a dairy production consultant for Land O' Lakes Purina Feed and as the herdsman for Cederberg Dairy, a 1,000 cow herd in Ramona, S.D.
Dr. Herrick holds a Bachelor of Science in animal science, a Master of Science in ruminant nutrition and a Ph.D. in dairy science from South Dakota State University. His Ph.D. work focused on the effects of butyrate supplementation on metabolism and production in lactating dairy cows, and was recognized with a Midwest American Dairy Science Association Young Scholar award in 2013 as well as the John Brandt Scholarship in 2011.

In his role as the senior manager for the dairy and livestock technical services at Purina Animal Nutrition, Dr. Herrick will lead a cross-functional team that works with research and development, marketing and sales to deliver technical resources to consultants in the field.
