Zepp provides overview of current market trends and farm bill margin program
The Center for Dairy Excellence will host the next "Protecting Your Profits" conference call on Wednesday, June 25, from 12 12:15 p.m. The call will provide a concise market update that includes a national and global snapshot of the dairy industry today, including LGM-Dairy margins and opportunities.
Alan Zepp, risk management program manager for the center, who authors the Markets and Management Update, published in Farmshine, will host the call. According to Zepp, futures markets today are providing a unique opportunity for dairy farm managers to protect potential income into 2015. This past January surpassed that record margin available with an $8.86 average. June 2014 is offering average expected margins of $9.03 per hundredweight. Join the Center for Dairy Excellence as Zepp looks at current market conditions and opportunities during the next "Protecting Your Profits" conference call. Anyone can participate in the monthly conference call series. There is no charge to participate in the call, but pre-registration is required.
