Premium List Available for 2013 All-American Dairy Show


Open, Youth Entries Due Aug. 9; Online Registration Available



Pennsylvania Department of AgricultureThe Premium List is now available for the 2013 All-American Dairy Show, listing fast approaching deadlines for show entries and several youth contests. All open show and Premier National Junior Events entries and payments are due Aug. 9. The last day for late entries is Aug. 23.

Enter online at www.allamerican.state.pa.us or mail an entry form to the All-American Dairy Show, Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center, 2300 N. Cameron Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

Other contest deadlines are:
· All-American Invitational Youth Dairy Cattle Judging Contest – Aug. 26
· Junior Management Contest – Aug. 31
· Dairy Judging Forum – Aug. 31

Contestants for the All-American Youth Showmanship Contest register from 5-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, and 7:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8.

The 50th anniversary show is Sept. 7-12, a week earlier than in the past, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg. The 10th anniversary of the Premier National Junior Events, themed "Stars Shine Brighter in Harrisburg," will run Sept. 7-10.

Special events include dairy oxen demonstrations Sept. 7-8; volunteer PA Preferred™ Appreciation Reception Saturday, Sept. 7; free country music concert featuring rising star Greg Bates Saturday, Sept. 7; Golden Jubilee Reception Sunday, Sept. 8; and the National Dairy Shrine Banquet Wednesday, Sept. 11.

A new award is the Supreme Champion Bred and Owned animal, with the winner receiving the use of a cattle trailer for one year.

All-American Dairy Show exhibitors will receive 50th anniversary mementos, with class winners and champions earning special gifts. Youth participating in the Premier National Junior Events can win from among $35,000 in prizes and seven dairy calves donated by All-American breeders.

The 2013 All-American Dairy Show features 22 shows in six days in addition to the nation's only all-dairy antiques show. Last year's event featured nearly 2,500 animals and more than 900 exhibitors from across the nation. The celebrations caps off with the 56th Pennsylvania Dairy Princess Pageant on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Camp Hill Radisson Hotel.
