Penn State's Extension Dairy Team in partnership with Maryland and Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative Association will host a program on using precision technologies for maximum efficiency on dairy farms. With increasing competition and shrinking margins, new technology can save labor costs, improve animal performance and open opportunities for more effective herd management.

Topics include:

• Cow Cooling and Ventilation
• Solar Energy Options for Dairy Farms
• Working with Hispanic Labor
• Cow Bedding
• Facilities Tour

The one-day Precision Dairy Technology Forum Summer Tour will be held on July 9th from 10 AM until 2:30 PM in Blair county. Registration is free, but must be done by July 2nd.

Dairy farm owners, herdsmen, and related industry personnel will learn the positives and negatives associated with various precision technologies and gain the ability to make an informed decision regarding the role of the technology on their dairy.

The program, facilities tour, lunch and ice cream will all be located on-farm at 811 Piney Creek Road, Martinsburg, PA.
