O'Flaherty joins Rock River Laboratory, Inc. as Nutrition Analytical Consultant
Rock River Laboratory, Inc. announces a recent team expansion with the hiring of Justin O'Flaherty as Nutrition Analytical Consultant and Rock River Laboratory – Ohio lab manager. In her new position, O'Flaherty will work to conduct and manage feedstuff sample analysis for the Ohio region, in addition to handling regional relationships and fostering new opportunities to grow laboratory relations and partnerships.
"Justin's passion, ambition, and enthusiasm are a perfect fit for our team and a key driver as we establish the Rock River Laboratory-Ohio branch," says Zac Meyer, Rock River Laboratory director of operations. "Her in-depth knowledge of Ohio agriculture and the feedlot industry is a great asset to Rock River Laboratory."
The sixth generation on her family's farm, O'Flaherty grew up working and learning the beef industry alongside her father. O'Flaherty hails from Wooster, Ohio and initially pursued her collegiate career at Clemson University for three years before finishing her Bachelor of Science degree, focusing on Animal Science, back in her home state at Ohio State University. Her officerships in both the Collegiate Cattlemen's Association and Block and Bridle Club continued to build her industry expertise and experience, and her passion for agriculture advocacy helped drive her to become facilitator of the Beef Checkoff-funded Fit for a Princess Program.
O'Flaherty's previous experience includes a marketing internship with Certified Angus Beef, a student ambassador position with Prima Tech, USA, and a student research assistantship at the Ohio Agriculture Research and Development Center (OARDC) feedlot. After pursuing the Miss Ohio Crown in 2013 and becoming a Top 10 semifinalist, O'Flaherty earned the title of Miss Heart of Ohio 2014 and is vying for the Miss Ohio title again in 2014.
