"Our cooperative and our members are dedicated to feeding our communities and our world; this partnership takes our commitment one step further," says Doug Cropp, Vice President, Grain for Landmark Services Cooperative. "Through Invest an Acre, our members have the opportunity to directly provide for their communities. By investing an acre, they are making a positive impact locally."

The team at Landmark Services Cooperative says this program is important because nearly 50 million U.S. citizens face hunger on a daily basis, many of which are members of rural communities.
"Our members believe that no one should go to bed hungry at night," Cropp says. "We have the technology, dedication and passion to produce the food our communities need and we are proud to partner with Invest an Acre this fall. Grain growers can participate in the program at any of our locations, including our new facility in Fall River, Wis."

Through the program, grain growers can donate the proceeds of an acre, truckload or certain number of bushels to help provide for hungry families in their communities. With each dollar providing three meals and 100 percent of contributions going directly to local Feeding America food banks, the proceeds from the donation can help provide thousands of meals to neighbors in need. In addition, Monsanto is matching all donations, doubling the impact of the program.

Investing an Acre is simple for grain growers:

1. When you bring your crops to your Landmark Services Cooperative elevator, tell the grain clerk you'd like to donate a portion of your proceeds to Invest an Acre. You can also download a donation form to bring with you by visiting LSCPledge.
2. Landmark Services Cooperative will make your donation to Invest an Acre and coordinate documentation accordingly.
3. Monsanto will match all grower donations, dollar for dollar.
4. Feeding America will distribute 100 percent of Landmark Services Cooperative members' donations – plus the match from Monsanto – to the Feeding America food bank in the grower's community. Producers may also select to donate a food bank who is a Feeding America food bank partner agency.
5. Feeding America will send you a receipt for your donation. Because Feeding America is a 501©(3) non-profit, your donation to the Invest an Acre program through Landmark Services Cooperative is tax deductible.

To date, the Invest an Acre program has distributed $1.7 million to over 70 food banks nationwide. Donations have resulted in 5.1 million meals made available to families in need, through partnerships with ADM, Monsanto, Feeding America, the Howard G. Buffett Foundation and partnering grain facilities, like Landmark Services Cooperative.
