Maryland's "Brooks" Named Grand Champion at Open Holstein Show



Brookvilla Goldwyn Brooks, owned by Ernest Kueffner and Michael Heath, of, Boonsboro, Md., was named Grand Champion Holstein of the Open Holstein Show, held Thursday, Sept. 18, during 2014 All-American Dairy Show at the Pennsylvania Farm Show and Expo Center in Harrisburg.

Brooks was named Intermediate Champion by Judge Barclay Phoenix, of Uxbridge, Ontario, prior to receiving the top honors.

Lloyd and Denise Pease of Susquehanna, Susquehanna, Co., earned Reserve Grand Champion Holstein with BVK Atwood Abbie-ET. Pease's taking home Reserve Intermediate Champion with "Abbie".

James and Nina Burdette, of Mercersburg, Franklin Co., received Senior Champion Holstein with Windyh-Knoll-View Chantilly.

The Reserve Senior Champion Holstein went to J&K Vue Goldwyn Glamour, owned by Doug Boop of Millmont, Union County.

Junior Champion Holstein honors went to Luncrest Black Widow-1564, owned by Lloyd and Denise Pease, of Susquehanna, Susquehanna Co.

Chris and Jennifer Hill, of Thurmont, Md. took home Reserve Champion Junior Holstein with WABASH Way Braxton Twinkle.

The 2014 All-American Dairy Show features 22 shows in six days in addition to the nation's only all-dairy antiques show. Last year's event featured nearly 2,800 animals and more than 1,300 exhibitors from across the nation. The week caps off with the 58th Pennsylvania Dairy Princess Pageant on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Radisson Hotel Camp Hill.
