Michigan Milk Producers AssociationThe Michigan Milk Producers Association has hired Colt Johnson to head up the cooperative's largest processing facility in Ovid, Mich.

Colt has over 30 years of experience in a variety of processing facilities, ranging from personal care items to high protein dairy beverages. He spent the early part of his career working for Procter and Gamble before moving on to positions at Nestlé. Most recently, Colt served as plant packaging and manufacturing manager at fairlife LLC in Coopersville, Mich. He has a bachelor's degree in history with a concentration in public administration from Appalachian State University and has completed multiple processing training courses throughout his tenure.

As MMPA Ovid Plant manager, Colt will lead the 120-plus employee team processing 3.5 to 5 million pounds of milk each day into milk powder, condensed skim milk, cream and butter. Dairy products marketed through the plant during the past year generated $313 million in value for MMPA dairy farmer members.

MMPA is a member owned and controlled milk-marketing cooperative serving approximately 2,000 dairy farmers in Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio and Indiana.
