The statewide dairy convention in Missouri is expanding to a regional convention called the Heart of America Dairy Expo January 25-26, 2013 in Springfield, Missouri.

"We are really excited to offer dairy farmers in the Midwest an alternative for educational programming closer to home and directed to our needs," says Missouri Dairy Association (MDA) President Larry Purdom of Purdy, MO.

"We picked Springfield, for the next two years, because it is a natural trade hub and home to many dairy businesses such as Kraft, Mueller, F&S Food Equipment Company, Dairy Farmers of America and Hiland Dairy Foods.

"The Ramada Oasis Hotel and Convention Center will be home to our first Expo and the Ramada has just completed a new convention hall which will house over 60 exhibits and equipment inside. The Ramada is conveniently located on the north side of Springfield at Glenstone and Interstate 44," says Purdom.

"Missouri's dairy organizations will also continue to conduct board meetings and annual meetings during the Expo," says Dave Drennan, MDA Executive Director and Expo Sales Manager.

"Dairy farmers and allied industry from surrounding states are welcome to attend. We also don't want travelers to forget that Branson is only 45 miles away from Springfield so we hope they plan a trip and enjoy all Missouri has to offer," concludes Drennan.

Registration is free for dairy farmers but luncheon reservations are required for Friday and Saturday and may be made by emailing dairystl@aol.com or calling 636/519-9300. Sponsor and exhibitor information is available at the same contacts.

Sleeping room reservations may be made by calling the Ramada Oasis Hotel and Convention Center directly at 417/866-5253 and ask for the Heart of America Dairy Expo room block.
