Groundbreaking scheduled November 5

Kemin Industries will break ground on a new manufacturing facility on Wednesday, November 5. The new facility, located near its headquarters in Southeast Des Moines, is the company's most recent development in its worldwide expansion plan following the opening of its Molecular Advancement Center in August of 2013. The new manufacturing facility will grow the company's production of its encapsulated amino acids that are used in feed to increase the efficiency of animals, such as dairy cattle. With almost 10 million cows in the U.S. and Mexico, this building is needed to help more producers keep their herds efficient and profitable. Since announcing its worldwide expansion plan four years ago, Kemin has added approximately 140 new, full-time jobs. When the expansion is complete, Kemin will have added six new manufacturing facilities, three new research facilities and a new corporate headquarters building.
