Kasbergen, Matos Join Virtus Nutrition In Marketing and Sales Positions



Virtus logoCaitlin Kasbergen was named marketing associate, and Jorge Matos, Southern area manager for Virtus Nutrition, a Central California-based dairy feed ingredient company specializing in fatty acid nutrition.
"Caitlin brings a great work ethic and family dairy background to her new job, while Jorge has invested nearly 30 years working with California dairies," said Kevin Murphy, Global Technical Director for Virtus Nutrition.

Caitlin Kasbergen started at Virtus Nutrition in June. Her new duties include handling all advertising and product literature development and distribution. She will handle setup for trade shows and conferences, as well as orchestrate the production of videos for The Fatty Acid Forum (fattyacidforum.com).

Kaebergen pixtKasbergen grew up on her family's Rancho Teresita Dairy in Tulare, Calif. and credits that experience for giving her the desire to make working in the dairy industry the focus of her career. She earned her Bachelor's degree in dairy science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and minored in agribusiness. She also participated in the University of Virginia, "Semester at Sea," study abroad program.

"While I am passionate about Agriculture as a whole, there is something about the Dairy Industry that excites me," Caitlin said. "I am looking forward to improving my knowledge on the nutrition side, more specifically the fatty acids products that Virtus sells and how they improve cow health and increase production."

"We are quite excited about the impact she will have on improving our customer communications and efforts to work alongside nutritionists to better balance fatty acids in our dairy diets."

Kasbergen has had diverse work experience. Upon graduation she worked for World Wide Sires, Ltd, in Visalia, Calif. where she was public relations and marketing coordinator. Prior to that she interned as a relationship analyst for Rabobank; accounting intern at MPI Prime Construction, Inc.; and served as a lead coordinator at Keller Williams Realty. While at Cal Poly, Caitlin was involved in Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity, Los Lecheros Dairy Club, and Ag Ambassadors.

Jorge Matos also started at Virtus Nutrition in June as the Southern area manager. He'll be serving dairy producers, nutritionists, and feed companies in Texas, New Mexico and Colorado markets. His base of operations will be from his home office in Amarillo, Texas.

"He is looking forward to developing new working relationships with dairy producers, nutritionists and the feed industry throughout the Southwest region," Murphy said.

Matos pixtMatos comes to Virtus Nutrition after 19 years with Alta – California where he was district sales manager. During his career he also worked in plant operations for Land O'Lakes / Dairyman's Cooperative Creamery Association in Tulare, Calif., and assistant manager for a large Central California dairy. He came to the U.S. in 1985 from his native Portugal and has been successful in all his pursuits.

"I'm a strong believer in continuing education for self and employees to increase efficiencies, lower costs, and improve job satisfaction and customer service delivery," said Matos. "My goal is to establish and maintain strong, consultative relationships with clients, with the commitment to grow customer business through exceptional service, customized products and services, and prompt and efficient follow-up to resolve issues and provide effective technical product support."

Matos recently earned his Bachelor's degree in business management from Fresno Pacific University, and within weeks also celebrated the graduations of his 21-year-old daughter, Marcia, from college in Michigan and his son, Marcello, from Tulare Union High School in California.

Matos is naturally fluent in Portuguese, but also in Spanish. He has a record of success in nearly every pursuit. Always active in his local church, Matos has often volunteered for special programs, which benefit elementary school children.
