Jerseyland Sires is pleased to announce the hiring of Tyler L. Boyd, P.A.S., a graduate of Vanderbilt University and Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University. Boyd recently began his duties as General Manager and will be based in Hilmar, CA. Prior to accepting his new position, Boyd worked in international sales for another AI organization. A fourth generation Jersey breeder, Boyd grew up in Parrottsville, Tennessee, where he is involved in the management of the family's Registered Jersey™ herd, Boyd-Lee Jerseys. Boyd is active in national Jersey programs, was the 2008 AJCA Youth Achievement Award winner, and currently serves on the All-American Jersey Show & Sale Futurity Committee. While in college he participated in the American Dairy Science Association and was a member of the Virginia Tech Dairy Judging and Dairy Challenge teams.

Boyd will be representing Jerseyland Sires at various dairy industry functions, starting with World Dairy Expo September 30th – October 4th in Madison, Wisconsin, where he will be available to talk with herd owners wanting to use the Jerseyland Sires bulls in their individual breeding programs, and visit with Jersey breeders who have cows or heifers that may be potential AI bull mothers for the Jerseyland Sires program. Meetings can be arranged by contacting Tyler at TBoyd@JerseylandSires.com.

Bulls now entering the Jerseyland sampling program are selected in coordination with Alta Genetics, led by the Jerseyland Sire Selection Committee and utilizing genomic testing results as part of the selection process. Jerseyland Sires currently releases more than 30 genomic young sires each year for initial sampling usage, building on the base of more than 60,000 cows and heifers in the herds of their members in Hilmar, California and Dalhart, Texas. Additional semen is sold nationally through Alta Genetics.
