Four Iowa State University students will each receive a $2,500 scholarship from Eric and Nicole Lang in Brooklyn, Iowa.

This year's scholarships are being awarded in honor of Dale and Arlene Gerlach, Richard Sears and Family, Noran Shaver and Marsha Shaver-Floyd, and Maynard Lang.

This is the second year that a scholarship has been awarded in honor of Maynard Lang.
Dale and Arlene Gerlach were long time Holstein breeders from Toledo and friends of the Lang family.

Richard Sears, Grinnell, Iowa, was an Ayrshire breeder and friend of the Lang family over three generations. His children, Larry, Glenda Bradshaw and Marilyn Barnes were also active in the Ayrshire breed. Larry and Glenda both sold breeding stock to Eric Lang.

Marsha Shaver-Floyd is a New Providence, Iowa, Milking Shorthorn breeder who was perhaps the first woman dairy cattle judge to officiate at major shows. Her father, Noran Shaver, was a long time friend of the Langs, as well.

This is the second year that Eric and Nicole Lang have awarded dairy science scholarships through the ISU Ag Foundation
