IPS Releases #7 Type Bull with August Proofs

International Protein Sires realized significant enhancements in their sire lineup with the August 2011 sire summaries. “While we had a limited number of new proven sire releases, our overall lineup improved significantly. In addition, we have added several new young sires with superior genomic information. These pacesetting genetics are finding great favor with the progressive minded dairy farmer,” indicated Ron Sersland, President and CEO of IPS.

The newest shinning star at IPS is 6HO1170 Karona Gold Luster. Luster enters the proven sire lineup ranked #7 in the breed for type at +3.24. His udder composite is +2.24 along with a +2.59 foot and leg rating. On the production side, Luster is +605 PTA for milk along with sold components. This Goldwyn son is backed by three generations of Excellent dams with the first two having records exceeding 40,500 pounds milk. Two additional IPS bulls are in the Top 35 for type, 6HO1068 Dynasty at +2.93T and 6HO1036 Arrow at +2.88T.

6HO1124 Tycoon-Red continues to grow in prestige with the addition of second crop daughters. He is #7 in the breed for productive life. Tycoon ranks #4 in the breed for somatic cell score. And, #4 Red & White bull of the breed based on Total Performance Index (TPI). His strength qualities, udder rating of +1.79 along with a foot and leg score of +1.27 makes this bull appealing regardless of color preference.

The pacesetting trend for high production has become symbolic with IPS. Three proven IPS sires rank in the breed’s top ten for milk yield. 6HO1150 Yankee at #4 is +2,373M. 6HO1156 Lucifer at #6 is +2,313M. And 6HO1030 Lilyman at #8 is +2,252M. All three bulls have great component yield. Lucifer leads this group for type at +1.91.

The IPS lineup realized several additional and noteworthy achievements. Four proven sires are in the top 50 for productive life: 6HO1124 Tycoon-Red #7 at 6.4PL, 6HO1152 Zade #9 at 6.3PL, 6HO1046 Bevan #45 at 4.5PL and 36HO0346 Mars #47 at 4.4PL.

A genomic tested young sire, 6HO1163 Lights Out, enters the IPS battery at a breed leading +2283GTPI. Lights Out is a Superstition son from an Excellent Shottle daughter with 41,200M and 4.2%F. The next dam is an Excellent-93-2E daughter of Lord Lilly, the same maternal family that produced 6HO1030 Lilyman and 6HO1156 Lucifer.
