On June 18, Jeremy Kohler of Lancaster, Ohio was presented the National Outstanding Young Guernsey Farmer award as part of the National Guernsey Convention and 139th Annual Meeting in Walnut Creek, Ohio. The award is presented annually to a Guernsey breeder under the age of 35 who has made a significant impact on the Guernsey cow and who shows a bright future in the industry.

Kohler is a partner in the Marodore Farm operation with his father, Lee. Both father and son are equally involved in the decision making on the farm. Kohler and his wife Hannah have three children, Silas (6), Carrington (2) and Shiloh (2 months). Kohler received an Associate Degree in Dairy Science from the Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute, and then a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science at the Ohio State University main campus. His return to the farm marked the fourth generation to milk Guernsey cattle there.

Marodore Farm is home to numerous top-producing Guernsey cattle, and is also a consistent contributor of bulls to A.I. companies. Kohler was on the halter of Marodore Yogis Promise when she won the Senior Two-Year-Old class at World Dairy Expo in 2012. Promise's young sire son at Select Sires, Pistoll, is already gaining popularity among breeders. Other bulls that have made an impact include Regis, Levi, Roy, and Libido. Kohler's future goals include new buildings for housing cattle, improving the breeding program by incorporating in vitro fertilization, and looking into the possibility of marketing Guernsey milk.
Brett Dixon of Conway, Missouri was named as the runner-up. Dixon owns and operates Stil Dreamn Dairy with his wife Jessica and their son Diesel. The Dixons focus on breeding show cattle and intensive grazing.

The American Guernsey Association is based in Columbus, Ohio and is dedicated to the advancement and promotion of Guernsey dairy cows and products.
