Glanbia logoKowz-‘R-Us Dairy-- owned and operated by Harry Hoogland -- was awarded Glanbia's highest honor, the 2015 Quality Patron of the Year, at Glanbia's annual Christmas patron luncheon and awards ceremony. Patrons were welcomed at the door of the Stone House with carolers from St. Edwards School.

The Hoogland dairy was awarded a Patron of the Year commemorative plaque and an all-expense paid trip for two to Ireland. Harry Hoogland shared, "It's all about consistency. Our team works closely with the veterinarian, nutritionist, employees and our inside/outside foremen. If we find our somatic cell count increasing or if we have several new employees, we will pull together milk training. We contact the Castleford School agriculture teacher, provide a translator, and hold a milk school to help everyone understand the expectations of running the dairy."

This annual award rotates between small, medium and large dairies. In order to be recognized for this award, Glanbia's milk suppliers must meet strict quality standards over 12 months, paying close attention to all facets of dairy operations.

"Kowz-R-Us Dairy is a culmination of many years of dairy experience in Idaho." said Russ De Kruyf, Director of Milk Procurement. Harry Hoogland and his family were one of the very early transplants from California in the late ‘60s. They saw the potential for the dairy industry in Idaho and paved the way for those who followed. Harry and Vicki have been very successful and are well respected in the Buhl and Castleford area. They surround themselves with excellent partners, managers and employees. Harry has some of the most dedicated long term employees and it is evident in their milk quality."

Daragh Maccabee, SVP Procurement & Dairy Economics, commented that "Glanbia is honored to work with our milk patrons in Idaho. Over many years we have built relationships based on reliability, integrity and quality. Harry and Vicki Hoogland have been Glanbia patrons for the last 10 years and we have had the privilege of Harry's insight and advice on our Patron Advisory Board for most of that time. We would like to thank Harry, Vicki and all at Kowz ‘R Us Dairy for their commitment to excellence over the years and congratulate them on their richly deserved award for 2015."

The grand prize drawing for an additional all-expenses paid trip for two to Ireland was awarded to Lael & Justine Schoessler, No-View Dairy who were in attendance. Both couples will embark on the trip this fall.
