Cooperative Resources InternationalThrough the first half of 2014, Genex Cooperative, Inc. and Cooperative Resources International experienced a 33 percent growth in Jersey semen sales over the same period last year. The increase follows a 26 percent growth in the cooperative's Jersey sales for 2013 versus 2012.

"This growth is a result of the cooperative's commitment to the growing Jersey breed," states Keith Heikes, Genex Chief Operating Officer. "In October 2012, the Genex board of directors adopted a delegate-backed Jersey cattle initiative and Genex staff developed an aggressive five-year growth plan. Those initiatives are leading Genex to be the elite genetic resource for Jersey producers."

Also playing a role in sales growth is the availability of GenChoice™ sexed semen from more than 30 Jersey sires and PregCheck+™ sexed semen fertility ratings.

"Further demonstrating our commitment to the Jersey breed was the addition of Jerseys to the GENESIS Cooperative Herd in 2013," notes Heikes. "Jersey GENESIS will allow the cooperative to increase the availability of Jersey semen globally and develop genetics that provide maximum profit potential and adequate diversity for our members and customers."
