GENYOUth/Fuel Up to Play 60 Featured as part of Let's Move!

GENYOUth Foundation and Fuel Up to Play 60 were part of a small group of distinguished organizations that joined First Lady Michelle Obama today at the 3rd Anniversary celebration of Let's Move, her nationwide initiative dedicated to solving the challenge of childhood obesity within a generation. The event, an unprecedented gathering of childhood health and wellness supporters who announced their collaboration, took place this morning at McCormick Place in Chicago.

Midwest Dairy was represented at the event by North Dakota dairy farmer and Board Chair Jerry Messer; Senior Vice President of Health and Wellness, Molly Pelzer; and Sandra Brown, Health and Wellness Program Manager. Additionally, an active Fuel Up to Play 60 school, Ridge Family Center for Learning of Elk Grove Village, Ill., was also represented by the school's Fuel Up to Play 60 Program Advisor (and a former Program Advisor of the Year), Will Hogan. Ridge Center was the national grand-prize winner of the Fuel Up to Play 60 Casting Call Challenge and was part of a Play 60 television spot last Thanksgiving. Their success story is now featured on the Let's Move initiative's new website, LetsMoveSchools.org, along with links to apply for Fuel Up to Play 60 grant funding.

Today's event provides a great opportunity to increase the visibility and deepen utilization of Fuel Up to Play 60 and to showcase dairy farmers' commitment to improving our nation's health.
