Using AG2000-1000 Flanged Magmeters from Seametrics

Advanced Water Products (AWP) and their dealer representative, David Sackrider from U.S. Irrigation, have helped Grimmway Farms in Kern County to more efficiently utilize water during this time of severe drought in California.

When Grimmway Farms approached U.S. Irrigation in 2009, they expressed a desire for dependable, accurate information in order to save water, to save costs and to improve the overall efficacy of their irrigation system.

David Sackrider from U.S. Irrigation, recommended the battery operated AG2000-1000 Flanged Magmeters that display the flow rate and the retained total gallons used.

Aaron Blinn, Irrigation Equipment Manager for Grimmway Farms, said that previously they had been using a meter with impellers and bearings. "It kept breaking and stopping our irrigation process, causing waste of water and time. The new Flanged Magmeters from Seametrics don't have all those working parts inside, so they work more efficiently saving water, time and money. They also feature a data logger which means I can hook up to my Touch Book or laptop and download information on how much water is used for any given field." He concluded, "Since we have been changing from aluminum to plastic irrigation over the last several years, this meter has been really helpful in determining the differences by measuring our results."
