The Dodge County Dairy Youth Recognition Auction Committee recently awarded five youth with $500 grants to grow and develop their dairy projects. The purpose of the Dodge County Dairy Youth Recognition Auction Dairy Grant Program is to support active Dodge County Dairy youth with a monetary grant to expand their dairy projects. Criteria for selection include participation in dairy organizations, such as 4-H, FFA or Junior Breed Associations, future plans with the dairy animals, and the recipient's willingness to learn and grow through owning a dairy animal.

The 2015 grant recipients are Ben Buske, Lomira; Emily Butler, Lebanon; Matthew Gunst, Hartford; Paul Grulke, Mayville; and Kevin Twadorkus, Mayville.

The recipients are to use the $500 grant awards to purchase an animal of any dairy breed in the upcoming nine months. This is the first year of the program with funding provided by the Dodge County Dairy Youth Recognition Auction held during the Dodge County Fair.
