CRV's Jersey lineup continues to evolve

The December 2014 sire evaluations for CRV brought three new Jersey InSires to the growing and evolving program. These Jerseys showcase a combination of components, udders, and unique pedigrees.

Exciting new additions

New addition River Valley DETROIT-ET (Megatron x Restore) a Megatron son out of the great Dixie cow is a phenomenal component bull with 91 lbs combined Fat and Protein. He is also an udder improver and will sire tall, stylish cows. Sun Valley Irwin GRAVITRON-ET (Irwin x T Bone) brings a diverse pedigree to our lineup. GRAVITRON will improve components and udders with 90 lbs combined Fat and Protein and 17.74 JUI. Legendairy Topeka HAILSTORM- ET (Topeka x Impuls) is a complete package bull that rounds out our new additions. With 6.0 PL, 11.63 JUI and positive component percents, HAILSTORM will sire long-lasting, productive daughters.

Base change

December sire evaluations brought an adjustment to the JPI and JUI formulas, as well as the addition of cow conception rate (CCR) and heifer conception rate (HCR). Many of CRV's top bulls continue to perform well with the base change. Wilsonview M/Z STORMY-ET (Marvel x Dale) from the Wilsonview Shauna family continues to lead the CRV lineup at 182 JPI and 512 CM$. Wilsonview Perform MACHete-ET (Perform x Navara) writes a beautiful linear profile and is our highest JUI bull at 19.9 JUI. MACH is also a health trait improver at 0.8 DPR, 2.7 PL and 2.98 SCS. Faria Brothers LEVY (Valentino x Maximum) continues to lead component production with 98 lbs combined Fat and Protein. LEVY is now being used as a son of sires.
