The CDCB Board of Directors annual meeting was held in Orlando, FL, on February 4th, 2015.
Four directors were elected for a three year term (2015 through 2017, Class II):

  • Dan Sheldon, representing the Dairy Records Providers (re-elected)
  • Marvin Helbig, representing the Dairy Records Processing Centers (first term)
  • Gordon Doak, representing National Association of Animal Breeders (first term)
  • Neal Smith, representing Purebred Dairy Cattle Association (re-elected)

The two non-voting, advisory members of the board, Doug Ricke (Zoetis) and Juan Tricarico (Dairy Innovation Center) were also re-elected for another one year term.

A reorganization meeting followed with the election of the new executive board:

  • Chair: Jay Mattison (DRPs)
  • Vice-chair: Gordon Doak (NAAB)
  • Secretary: John Clay (DRPCs)
  • Treasurer: Neal Smith (PDCA)

The CDCB board and staff expressed their sincere gratitude to the two directors (Ole Meland and Lee Day) who completed their term on the CDCB board. They were recognized for their strong commitment in strengthening the Council during the transitional period when the dairy industry became gatekeeper of the national dairy database and controller of the delivery of genetic and management information to the US dairy industry. Special thanks was extended to Ole Meland for his leadership as chairman of the board in the last three years, a critical transition period for the CDCB.
