Canadian Dairy XPO partners with Dairy Farmers of Canada - Embracing Blue Cow Spirit!

DFC Blue CowCanadian Dairy XPO (CDX) and Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) embrace pride within the Canadian dairy industry by launching the blue cow spirit initiative at the 2016 XPO.

The blue cow spirit initiative serves two purposes: promoting pride within the Canadian dairy industry and allowing producers to save $10 off admission into CDX, making regular admission now only $15.

"The Canadian Dairy XPO has made its mark as the largest commercial dairy stage in Canada. A place where Canadian dairy families can see global innovations, be educated and connect with fellow producers," states Wally Smith, President of DFC. "Dairy Farmers of Canada is pleased to support efforts around building spirit and commitment behind the 100% Canadian Milk symbol. When our industry comes together, we project stability and fortitude for the future."

Identifying a need in the marketplace, over 10 years ago, CDX has received precedent setting support from both dairy producers and industry, now running their 4th annual XPO. Seven of the ten CDX team members own dairy cattle and are deeply rooted within the Canadian dairy industry.

"The total value proposition for attending dairy producers has been calculated in excess of $150 dollars, but with the blue cow spirit initiative, producers pay only $15 in gate admission," states CDX Marketing Manager, Donna Underhill. "Dairy producers can wear existing blue cow apparel or purchase blue cow apparel at one of two DFC Blue Cow Retail Outlets, located on-site at CDX. All blue cow branded clothing is accepted as part of this offer, but must be worn in and throughout CDX. The idea is to get a sea of blue cow walking through CDX 2016. We are proud to support the dairy industry and kick off our new spring operating dates (April 6th & 7th, 2016) with this exciting initiative."

For the $15 gate admission dairy producers can access a CDX early bird hat, a buttermilk pancake breakfast, visit with 350 exhibiting dairy companies - representing more than 30 countries; check out the latest in dairy innovation and cattle demos; take part in the dairy classroom education program with international speakers, producer panels and virtual farm tours. The popular night time function CheeseFEST is still free to attend – so I ask you, what dairy producer would pass this up? Not many, as there were 15,200+ dairy producers in attendance for 2015, 94% actively dairy farming. It's apparent that CDX has strong momentum and loyalty, with a unique culture of both social and business.

"By working with motivated partners such as DFC, we are able to make producers and their families feel welcome and rewarded for their commitment to the Canadian dairy industry," states CDX General Manager and Founder, Jordon Underhill. "With ongoing global trade pressure, there is more pride and passion for the 100% Canadian Milk symbol than ever before. Team CDX will welcome dairy farm families this April as our VIP guests."

To further improve the dairy producer experience onsite, CDX has committed a major capital investment around further onsite parking development and a new 400ft permanent state-of-the-art Cow Coliseum structure. Construction starts this fall, so stay tuned for more updates.
