Entry deadline is July 15 for $1,000 scholarship

Applications are now available for the Arthur W. Nesbitt All-American Dairy Foundation Award, which seeks to recognize an individual who has exhibited cattle or participated in youth activities at the All-American Dairy Show.

The award is named for Arthur Nesbitt, honorary chairman of the All-American Dairy Foundation. The Enon Valley, Lawrence County, Pa. native, now resides in Fort Atkinson, Wis., and is the former NASCO Chief Operating Officer and past secretary of the Pennsylvania Holstein Association.

Nesbitt is a long-time support of the All-American Dairy Show. Now in its 52nd year, the 2015 Show is slated for September 12 through 17, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg, Pa.

Scholarship applicants must have participated in one or more activities at the All-American Dairy Show and must currently be enrolled in an undergraduate degree or certification program -- regardless of type of major or program of interest -- at a post-secondary educational institution.

The application is available online at www.allamericandairyfoundation.org or by contacting Bob Heilman at (804) 240-1539, or bob_heilman@comcast.net.

The application is due to Heilman by July 15, 2015, at All-American Dairy Foundation, P.O. Box 11211, Richmond, VA 23230.

‘Preparing for the next 50 years' is more than a phrase to the folks involved in supporting the youth activities of the All-American Dairy Show. The future of the dairy industry and the show lies in the opportunities for learning and competition for the next generation. The All-American Dairy Foundation's mission is to secure funds to allocate for these educational events and incentives.
