Ag Day on Campus to Bring Students, The Public and Farmers Together

Members of the Collegiate Farm Bureau will be giving students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison an opportunity to interact with agriculture at Ag Day on Campus being held Wednesday, April 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Library Mall.

“We are excited to host the fourth annual Ag Day on Campus to help students get connected with the agricultural industry that produces the food we eat every day,” said Kate Griswold, University of Wisconsin -Madison student majoring in Life Sciences Communication and member of CFB. “By partnering with the University Club on campus, we will be able to give out amazing food products grown and produced right here in Wisconsin.”

The Collegiate Farm Bureau will be handing out food samples using products from Wisconsin including milk from Sassy Cow Creamery, Rushing Waters Smoked Trout, Asian grilled pork belly, Baklava, and cheese and sausage displays. The public is also encouraged to check out the menu at the University Club that day, which will be featuring some of these products.

“Our members, with roots in agriculture are excited to talk to anyone about the nutritious and safe food they grew up and are still helping to produce on their family’s or a local farm,” said Griswold. “We grew up on farms and with agriculture backgrounds and are excited to answer the multitude of questions posed by the #AskAFarmer theme.”

Sponsors of Ag Day on Campus include Brooks Farms, Dane County Dairy Promotion, Inc., Rock Prairie Dairy, LLC., Milk Source, LLC., Ag Star Financial Services, Hartung Brothers, GreenStone Farm Credit Services, Wisconsin Farm Bureau Foundation, SCR Dairy, Inc., Badger Dairy Club, Association of Women in Agriculture, Agri-Nutrition Consulting, LLC., UW Saddle and Sirloin Club, VitaPlus, Rosy-Lane Holsteins LLC, Ebert Dairy Enterprise LLC, and ANIMART.
