Tools, peer networking, and business skills for greater operational efficiencies

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and K·Coe Isom, together with Monsanto and CHS, will host a one- and a half-day conference focused exclusively on helping high-impact producers assess growth strategies to survive and thrive in a highly unstable environment.

The Mergers, Acquisitions, and Growth Conference will be held July 13-14, 2015 in Kansas City, MO at the Embassy Suites Airport. The conference brings ag finance professionals and ag producers together to review benchmarking data, discuss actual case studies-where others have expanded their operations through acquisitions and partnership strategies-and network with peers. "Business success and survival depends on continuous improvement. Farmers and ranchers need to pick up the pace to stay in the front half of the pack. Mergers and acquisitions can give them greater economies of scale or additional managerial expertise," said Danny Klinefelter, agricultural finance professor and economist with Texas AgriLife Extension. "This conference is a great learning and networking opportunity. Producers will gain the know-how to weigh the pros and cons of different growth strategies."

Throughout the conference, K·Coe Isom, a leading consulting and CPA firm in the food and agriculture industry, will spearhead sessions ranging from key growth metrics and business growth planning to alternative growth strategies and ag tax planning. Panel discussions will highlight case studies from farm owners/managers and ag industry leaders. "Having worked with hundreds of producers across the country, there's a common theme. Most of the farmers and ranchers are evaluating what path they want to take for ongoing growth-merging, acquiring, partnering. We've seen what works and what doesn't," said Jeff Wald, CEO of K·Coe Isom. "This conference is about sharing in-the-field lessons and financial benchmarking so producers looking to grow can make informed business decisions that will ensure their operations are here for generations to come."
