Lewis JonesThe American Guernsey Association is pleased to announce that Lewis Jones has been hired as Chief Business Administrator. He will be responsible for the financial management and staff oversight of the American Guernsey Association, (AGA) and Purebred Publishing, a division of the AGA. He was selected after an interview process of board members, industry representatives and AGA members. Jones will assume these duties beginning mid-April. David Trotter, AGA President and Interim Executive Secretary said, "We are excited about the experiences that Lewis Jones brings to AGA and strongly believe that we are heading in the right direction for the future of the Guernsey breed and membership with the management expertise he brings to the organization."

A graduate of The Ohio State University, Jones currently oversees the Spring Dairy Expo as show manager. The Expo presents multiple breed regional and national dairy shows and sales held annually in Columbus, Ohio. For 15 years he was with the State of Ohio Department of Agriculture where his responsibilities included directing the Ohio Department of Agriculture Dairy Division sanitation program, including the assurance of safe and wholesome milk and dairy products for the consumer. His most recent title was Department Deputy Director. Prior to that, he spent several years as an auditor of milk and products receipts and distributions with the Federal Milk Market Administrator, Federal Order 33 in Columbus, Ohio. His list of experiences also includes Investment Advisor and he was an Operations Manager at The Pillsbury Company's Grain Division.

Jones is a lifetime member of the National Dairy Shrine, a member of the Ohio Agricultural Council, Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, The Ohio State University Alumni Association, Alumnus of Alpha Gamma Sigma Fraternity, and has served as a past president and vice president of the National Association of Dairy Regulatory Officials. He is also the recipient of the 2011 Ohio State University Dairy Science Hall of Service Award.

Jones will be responsible for financially managing both the AGA and Purebred Publishing, publishers of the Ayrshire Digest, Brown Swiss Bulletin, Guernsey Breeders' Journal and Milking Shorthorn Journal. He will work from the AGA headquarters office located in Columbus, Ohio. He and his wife, Carol, reside in Grove City, Ohio.

The American Guernsey Association is based in Columbus, Ohio, and is dedicated to the advancement and promotion of Guernsey dairy cows. The association claims over 700 active members nationwide.
